All the cameras on the Draganflyer X8 are equipped with digital video transmitters which transmit a digital signal so you can see what the helicopter sees in real time. A digital signal can be transmitted with out losing any of the quality of the picture transmitted. This in turn means the video transmitted from the Draganflyer X8 is pristine quality with no noise or interference that you would see in the same video transmitted by analog means. As the video is transmitted over a 802.11n 5.8GHz Wifi connection it can be easily encrypted to ensure only those you want to view the video can.
View Video on the Optional Handheld Ground Control Station
The optional hand held ground control station allows the operator of the Draganflyer X8 to view real time digital video in the palm of their hands as they operate the helicopter. This means you know exactly what the camera on the helicopter is seeing at all times allowing you to frame your shots and move the helicopter to the exact position you need to get the shot you want. The digital video stream provides clear pictures that are unencumbered by the noise you would find in an analog signal. Not only can you view video on the optional hand held ground control station but it also runs the complete version of DraganView™ software allowing you to view telemetry information overlaid on the video picture.
The Draganflyer X8 Base Station Features a Digital IP Video Receiver for the Best Reception
The Draganflyer X8 UAV base station features a built in Digital IP Video Receiver. By using digital signals over analog signals the resulting picture is pristine quality as there is virtually no signal noise in the digital transmission. The video picture is converted to zeros and ones which in turn are transmitted as high and low power radio signals. The receiver converts these low and high power signals back to zeros and ones where a computer on digital video device reassembles this back into a picture. This eliminates virtually any adverse effect from signal noise.

No matter if you are taking pictures and video in a controlled environment or the rugged wilderness, the Draganflyer X8 system can go there. Choose between the ultra-portable convenient hand held ground control station or the full size model that comes complete with its own military grade hard case. Both the hand held ground control station and the wireless digital video base station share the same basic features (wireless video, and telemetry). However each one is uniquely suited for different needs.
The hand held ground control station is ultra portable and is designed to make the operation of the Draganflyer X8 even easier. By allowing the operator to see the video on the screen of the hand held ground control station the pilot can frame the exact shot they want.
The base station is an excellent resource to have to be able to show your clients or people in a mobile command post what exactly is going on with the helicopter.
