Damage Tolerance

Keeps Working

Play Video With dual motors on each of the three arms, even if an in-flight collision causes one of the motors or rotors to stop working, the Draganflyer X6 helicopter will still be able to keep flying using the remaining five motors. This amazing ability to fly with a missing motor or rotor is not found in any other helicopter.

Durability & Strength

Durability has been incorporated into the design of the Draganflyer X6 helicopter. The extensive use of strong and light carbon fiber makes the Draganflyer X6 helicopter able to stand up to significant stress under flight. The carbon fiber arms and glass-filled injected nylon parts also maintain rigidity in the frame, improving flight response.

Folds on Impact

The Draganfly X6 helicopter has been designed with a frame which folds on impact. The strong clips that hold the arms in place absorb energy when they unclip - reducing the kinetic energy and the velocity of the helicopter when it impacts.

Replaceable Parts

The Draganflyer X6 is able to have individual arms replaced, rather than the entire frame. Each rotor can be replaced easily, and the landing gear quickly detaches for easy repair.

Flexible Rotor Mounts

The Draganflyer X6 rotors are each held in place with two strong neoprene o-rings. These hold the rotors securely in place yet are able to flex, reducing stress on the rotors when they bend.

Locked Rotor Protection

Rotor stall protection is built into the electronics that control each brushless motor. This means that if any rotor is stopped, the motor controller will automatically begin restarting it while limiting the power to a level that will not harm the motor even if it is held in place.
