Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Demonstrates The Draganflyer X6 Police UAS Helicopter’s Search Capability
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office uses the Draganflyer X6 Police UAS Helicopter to demonstrate the searching capabilities in a simulation of an armed subject at a school. The Draganflyer X6 UAV helicopter, equipped with the Flir Tau 640 thermal infrared video camera, hovers over the schoolyard looking downward for a global view of the scene. With the live video downlink, the pilot gets an unobstructed view of the search area for any possible heat signature and movement. The camera onboard the Draganflyer X6 UAV clearly displays the subject’s movement on the ground, giving police officers the advantage over the suspect. Identifying the location and direction for travel, the officers can respond quickly to neutralize the suspect.
The Draganflyer X6 UAS is clearly the easiest way to have complete situational awareness in any scenario.
