BC RCMP E-Division Procures a Draganflyer X6 Helicopter to Aid in their Investigations
August 30, 2011 – The RCMP E-Division, located in British Columbia, Canada, have procured a new forensic tool to investigate MVA’s (Motor Vehicle Accidents) and major crimes. The Draganflyer X6 UAV helicopter is an aerial photography/video platform perfect for obtaining aerial pictures and video of crime and accident scenes. It is perfect for low altitude, detailed shots and where time constraints factor in for collecting vital information. The Draganflyer X6 UAV helicopter is a cheap alternative when compared to the purchase, operation, and maintenance of a conventional full size helicopter. The RCMP E-Division will test this platform in a year-long pilot project to determine its usefulness and cost effectiveness in assisting with their investigations into major crimes and collision reconstructions.
